Proper case for my Pi servers

I have been using the Raspberry Pi as the main platform for building servers in my home. These servers provide anything from monitoring various sensors in my home to media servers and even IP Telephony.

So, having a very stable environment running for about one year now, I decided that I should move the little raspberry pi’s from their little fanless housing boxes to a properly ventilated “rack based” enclosure.

The project was very simple and took less than 45 minutes per system.

Things needed:

  • Rack mounted server case (I bought two from the internet for less that €60 each)
  • 5V Power supply and an AC cable
  • Junction Box
  • I reused cables and ethernet couplers (passive) I had laying around in order to properly wire the little pi into the case.
